Throughout January, Prairie Valley school social workers and counsellors are hosting free parent and community information nights around the division to talk about youth suicide awareness and prevention.
Suicide is the second leading cause of death among school-age youth. However, suicide is preventable.
Youth who are contemplating suicide frequently give warning signs of their distress. Parents, teachers, and friends are in a key position to notice these signs and get help. Learn how to spot the signs and what you can do to support your children and your community.
