Welcome to the Bert Fox Community High School web page.
Bert Fox Community High School is a Gr 8-12 school serving approximately 300 students; our students are served by 21 teachers and 19 support staff.
Our students benefit from an excellent academic program featuring many elective offerings (from Cosmetology, Aboriginal Youth Entrepreneurship, Commercial Cooking, and Construction to an integrated 4 credit kinesthetic curricular program where the focus on curriculum happens outdoors "Learning From the Land"). Students have ample opportunity to participate in a wide variety of extra-curricular programs featuring athletics, the arts, student leadership and after school clubs.
We are very excited to be a participant school in a Ministry of Education initiative known as “Following Their Voices”. The purpose of this program is to eliminate the achievement gap that is experienced by many First Nations, Metis and Inuit (FNMI) students. While Following Their Voices focuses very specifically on the implementation of a set of practices which are responsive to the needs of FNMI students, we believe all students will benefit from an educational program where all of our students can experience success. We are learning and growing together as a staff and look forward to sharing our learning with our students, parents and the community.
We are embracing "Bison Pride" at Bert Fox as we have all united behind a common logo. We believe that each student can contribute to our uniquely positive school culture through their contributions to academics, the arts and athletics. Our motto, "Think Believe Become" and our school values:"Belonging, Integrity, Sef-Control, Open Mindedness, Neighbourly" help guide us to empower our students to become excellent citizens.
Yours in Learning,
Jill Young-Lee B.A., BKin, B.Ed, M.Ed
