Football

The Fort Qu’Appelle Marauders have a long history of providing a quality 9-man football experience for students who attend Bert Fox and Balcarres Schools. That same tradition will carry on as the team moves forward as the Bert Fox Bison!

We typically play three home games and three away games in a regular season, with practice for two hours before school every day. League playoffs and provincial playoff rounds finish up the season for those who advance that far. This year we will be in Conference 2 which includes teams from Lumsden, Indian Head, Assiniboia, Maple Creek and Shaunovan. Our roster usually consists of forty or more players.

Players must be in a minimum of Grade 9 to be on the team, and their eligibility extends for four years from the day they enter grade 9. Our summer camp usually commences in the latter half of August, and the season can go to the middle of November for the two teams that face off in the provincial finals. Each year we have an introductory spring camp for a week in the spring for all players interested in playing for the team the following fall season. This sport not only recognizes skill and ability, but it also recognizes leadership, sportsmanship, and team players.
