Welcome back to a new year.
The staff members at Grenfell High Community School are looking forward to a fulfilling year as we focus on our course work and extra- curricular commitments. We are offering a wide range of classes from precalculus to woodworking in the hopes that we can offer every child the opportunity to grow in the direction that they wish. We also offer extracurricular sports, teams and clubs which we encourage all children to join.
In August the School Community Council Members met with the school staff to develop our Learning Improvement Plan. This year we are focussing on our RAD (Reading) Assessments, Math Number Strands and School Attendance. Please watch upcoming newsletter installments for updates on our LIPs.
As a former community school we are still offering morning snack for everyone every day as well as hot lunch at an affordable price once a week. Our canteen is open every lunch hour with a variety of foods. We also offer the students youth nights at various times during the year, during which they may be able to jump on a bus and go to paintball, movie night or a rider’s game at minimal cost.
If a child is looking forward to extra academic support please let us know. Our teachers are very willing to find time during the day or after school to ensure that every child can be successful. We also have the ongoing support of a School Social Worker almost half time. If you feel your child could benefit from some extra support please contact us.
Please contact us if you have concerns or questions. We make it our aim to meet all the needs of each of the individuals in this building.
