ONE SCHOOL, ONE BOOK
In January and February, Pense students, staff and families will be participating in a school wide reading event called One School, One Book . All families will receive a copy of Andrew Clements' Frindle on Monday, January 22, and will be asked to follow a reading schedule at home for their assigned novel. One School, One Book , the program that we are basing this project from, is a program where children at all grade levels will be listening to or reading the same book. We will also have an audio recording of the book on our school website so students can listen to the recordings of each chapter which have been read by the staff of Pense School!
As part of the program, your child will be invited to answer and discuss daily trivia questions to encourage involvement and excitement for the project. In class, there may be various activities which discuss or explore the book. You will want to make sure your family keeps up so your child can be included. Throughout January and February, everyone will be talking about Frindle ! Watch for the novel and reading schedule to come home on January 22!
