1.  Education Week activities (attached)

8.   A number of Teachers are taking Friends training programs, as conducted by PVSD.  Brandy Clark coordinates. Lessons to be implemented K-6.

1. Enrolment: 382 Students.  (See attached)

2.  LIP Update

3.  Volleyball, cross-country, flag football, golf are all up and running.  Other non-  athletic activities include cooking club, yearbook,

4.  Terry Fox Walk Sept. 27th.

5.  PMR review to be completed first week of October

6.  Gym floor project completed.  Some touch up being done on Sept. 21st

7.  Fountas and Pinnell and Math assessments being completed this month.

Dear Parents and Guardians:


The Kipling School Community Council (SCC) is a group of parents, educators and community members responsible for supporting and enhancing the educational goals of Kipling School within our communities. We work together with staff, students and community partners to offer programs and events including literacy nights with book giveaways, family games nights, the P.A.R.T.Y. program for high school students (Prevent Alcohol and Risk-Related Trauma in Youth), staff appreciation week and year-end literacy and citizenship awards. We also have a playground fund and recently approved the purchase of a buddy bench for the elementary students.

The next SCC meeting will be held on October 17th, at 7:30 p.m. in the staff room at Kipling School, and we invite you to attend. Regular Meetings are at 6:00 p.m. on the 4th Monday of the month.

NOTE:  NA June 19th, meeting is also our Annual General Meeting Date.


Normally we meet every third Tuesday of the month, except when school breaks/holidays interfere.


SCC Activities

The Kipling School Community Council works with staff, students and community partners including Moose Mountain Community Literacy Group and SGI to offer the following programs and events:


·        Literacy nights with books giveaways

·        Family games nights

·        P.A.R.T.Y. program for high school students (Prevent Alcohol and Risk-Related Trauma in Youth)

·        Staff appreciation week

·        Year-end literacy and citizenship awards

The SCC had a playground fund and recently approved the purchase of a Buddy Bench for the elementary students. SCC members are also willing to help with school events including the Heritage Fair/Science Fair, Arts Fest, BBQs, track and field days, etc.
