School Goals

École Lumsden Elementary School Goals 2018-2019

School Level Goals (Level 3)

Writing (Literacy) Goal

By May 30, 2019, 75% of students will score proficient or better in targeted areas (as determined by teachers) within a piece of writing.

 

Math Goal

By May 2019, 80% of ÉLES students will meet or exceed grade level/developmental expectations in the numeracy strand as determined by the teacher using a variety of assessments throughout the school year.

 

Area of Focus (Culture of Kindness Initiative)

ÉLES will continue our work towards creating safe learning spaces for all children by strategically developing and implementing activities that promote inclusion and acceptance, reduce anxiety, and enhance mental health for all.

 

Pod (Professional Learning Community (PLC)) Goals

French Immersion 1-5 Pod

French Immersion students will accurately write fiction and non-fiction texts using appropriate French grammar and conventions.

 

Grade 1-2 Pod

Writing:  By May 30, 2019, 75% of students will score proficient or better in a piece nonfiction writing.

 

Grade 3-4 Pod

Writing:  75% of students will be able to compose an expository (non-fiction) organized piece of writing per the curriculum including purpose, structure, details, and using a writing process.

 

Grade 5-6 Pod

Writing:  By May 30, 2019, 75% of students will score proficient or better in targeted areas (as determined by teachers) within a piece of writing as assessed using a grade specific adaptation of the PVSD Writing Assessment Rubric.

Math:  By May 2019, 80% of ÉLES students will meet or exceed grade level/developmental expectations in the numeracy strand as determined by the teacher using a variety of assessments throughout the school year

Grade 7-8 Pod

Math:  By January 2019, the grade 7-8 pod will read, discuss and strive to implement appropriate strategies using the book Accessible Mathematics: 10 Instructional Shifts That Raise Student Achievement.
