Sedley School is located approximately 50 km southeast of Regina on Highway 33. We are a K-8 school serving the communities of Francis, Lajord and Sedley for approximately 110 students. Over and above regular class instruction, we offer computer literacy and have SMARTBOARD™ technology in all our classrooms with a strong focus on building literacy and math skills while demonstrating positive student behavior. Through a joint use agreement with the village, we utilize the attached Sedley Gym/Hall for physical education classes, school assemblies and other sporting and cultural events. We also have an optional band program for grades 6 through 8.
Our student population is active in extra-curricular sports including flag football, volleyball, badminton, cross-country and track and field. In addition, the school runs an intramural program during lunch. The elected SLC organizes school wide spirit day events and we have the added benefit of a very supportive School Community Council. Our Library coordinates many literacy activities, including some with the village’s South East Regional Library branch. Various clubs operate throughout the year, such as drama, environment club, book club, sewing/crocheting, and the WE committe is involved in local and global actions. At Sedley School we truly are “A Community of Learners.”
