Scholarship Information

Prince of Wales & Queen's Diamond Jubilee Scholarships

Please see the attachments below for more information. Criteria for these awards is as follows:

  1. Leadership - Please outline areas of leadership that you demonstrate in your family, school, community and with your friends/peer group.
  2. Responsibilities outside the school - What takes your time and energy outside of school, how important are these responsibilities to you and what impact does this have on you and others?
  3. Financial Support Needed - The need for financial support must be demonstrated (you may be solely supporting yourself, have other family members dependent on you for financial support or may have limited or no ability to earn extra money given current circumstances). How would the scholarship help you achieve your academic goals.
  4. Academic Performance - You must demonstrate a level of academic performance that makes graduation from Grade 12 likely. Please highlight your plans for completing the academic requirements to attain Grade 12.

Saskatchewan Agriculture Student Scholarship

Scholarship funding, totalling $10,000, is available to Saskatchewan high school students entering into agriculture-related post-secondary education. A top prize of $4,000 is awarded to one Saskatchewan student with three runner-up scholarships valued at $2,000 each.

The scholarship looks for young AGvocates who are willing to speak up and tell the exciting story of agriculture. Entries can include a written story or three-minute video and must follow one of the themes identified on Saskatchewan.ca/thinkAG.

Deadlines for applications are March 1 so students are urged to visit Saskatchewan.ca/thinkAG and view the contest rules and guidelines.

C.S.T. Consultants Inc. Guruparan and Winsor Scholarships

Canadian Scholarship Trust (C.S.T.) Consultants focus on growing and protecting the education savings of hundreds of thousands of Canadian families. Registered Education Savings Plans are its only business. Its mission is to advocate, develop, deliver and support solutions that will enable every Canadian resident to have sufficient financial resources to pursue post-secondary education. 

Students are invited to apply for one of two $6,000 scholarships – C.S.T. Consultants Inc. Guruparan and Winsor Scholarships.  These scholarships are available annually to two Canadian citizens who excel academically, are well-rounded and will be pursuing their first undergraduate commerce/finance/business degree/diploma at a recognized post-secondary institution. This program is aimed at those students whose parents/guardians do not have a post-secondary education or received their post-secondary education outside of Canada.  Applicants must be intending to pursue their first undergraduate commerce/finance/business degree/diploma at a recognized post-secondary institution in or outside of Canada. 

The Awards Selection Committee will award $6,000 to one successful female applicant for the Guruparan Scholarship and $6,000 to one successful male applicant for the Winsor Scholarship, through competition.  These awards are in memoriam of  Karthiha Guruparan, a  bright and determined CST summer student , who was on her way to completing her CMA and Bill Winsor, one of our most successful and engaged Branch Managers.

 Job-Applications.ca is providing an annual scholarship for working parents in Canada who are pursuing post-secondary education. Each school year, a working parent receives $1,000 toward college tuition costs. There is no fee for the application. To apply, students must simply write an essay discussing their experience as a parent working their way through pursuing a higher education and explain three pieces of advice they would give to someone in a similar situation. The application deadline is December 13, 2014, and the scholarship will be awarded December 19, 2014. RE/MAX of Western Canada has renewed the Quest for Excellence bursary program. This year we are once again offering (16) $1,000 bursaries for a total of $16,000 to grade 12 students.

Loran Scholars
Every year, we grant more than 100 university scholarships (including 30 Loran Awards) to young Canadians who show exemplary character, service and leadership potential. Each Loran Scholar receives a scholarship valued at up to $100,000 over four years, including an annual stipend, a matching tuition waiver, a summer program and one-on-one mentorship. We offer 40 finalist awards ($3,000) and 40 provincial awards ($2,000) to promising candidates not selected as Loran Scholars.

This newly developed program is for grade 12 secondary students wishing to pursue full-time post-secondary studies in welding in the Fall of 2015 at a Canadian community college or University.
