Welcome to the school year of 2018-2019!
I am excited to get underway with this school year at Wolseley High School and am looking forward growing relationships with the students, parents and community of Wolseley.
Wolseley is happy to offer a diverse assortment of academic classes to our students from grade 7 through grade 12. We are continuing to offer the Magnet programing for senior students wanting a variety of credit options. Senior students will be able to sign up for classes between Wolseley, Indian Head and Grenfell to ensure they have the most options available to them.
Our school motto, "Reason, Responsibility, and Respect" drives the work we do each day and provides direction for everything we do in our school. WHS works to develop strong and dedicated citizens who will lead our community, province and nation into the future. These core values allow all of us to work towards our students' success.
We, at WHS, will work to make every day relevant and valuable for each of our students and we wish to help develop their commitment to lifelong learning.
Last year WHS focused on relaunching "Positive Behaviour Interventions and Supports" (PBIS) in our school with solid growth and success! We will be continuing to build our culture around this cornerstone and we will be undertaking a new initiative of developing our staff mastery of differentiation in each of our classrooms. WHS is a school where everyone is learning through life!
We are looking to make our school website better and more informative as the year progresses. Most information parents need can be found here on the website, along with regular communication, reminders, newsletters, etc. We also will use School Messenger to help us communicate with families during the school year.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call (306)698-2591 and a member of our school team will be able to assist you.
I look forward to learning with all of our students and their families as we explore and grow our potential.
Mr. Ryan Whalley
Please be advised that our Student Handbook will be in Draft form again this year as we revisit and update school policies and rules. We will be looking for Student, parent, staff and community input to ensure our school is safe for and respectful of all who attend. Together, we will cultivate a business like atmosphere where successful habits and healthy actions will ensure individual student success.
