2010-2011 School Year Calendar

The Board of Education for Prairie Valley School Division has approved the continuation of the 310 Calendar for the 2010-2011 school year. In January, the Ministry of Education approved the continued use of the 310 Calendar Model until June 30, 2011. The 310 Calendar is an alternative school year arrangement which requires Ministry approval for its use. In addition, Board approval is required, and has now been granted. The 2010-2011 School Year Calendar aligns with the Belief and Commitment Statements for the 310 Calendar Model.

White City/Emerald Park Area Middle Years/Elementary School

The first stage in planning for a new school in the White City/Emerald Park area is complete. The planning work is for a second school in the White City area, and Stantec Inc. is the lead architect for the project. The planning work comes as enrolments increase in the current White City elementary school.

Enrolment is projected to increase over the next 15 years due to a continued demand for new housing in the area. The main areas of residential growth in the attendance area are the Town of White City, the Emerald Park area and the Rural Municipality of Edenwold.
