Job Action Update - One-Day Strike on January 22

The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation (STF) has announced a one-day, province-wide strike on Monday, January 22.

This one-day strike means all Prairie Valley schools will be closed on Monday, January 22. As a result of this job action by Prairie Valley STF members, there will be no classes and no supervision for students at our schools. All families will need to make arrangements for their children to not attend school this Monday.

The decision to close schools is being made to ensure student safety.

With notification of a one-day strike, it is expected that all Prairie Valley schools will reopen on Tuesday January 23, with all school operations returning to normal. If this changes, or if we become aware of any further job action updates, we will communicate with you as quickly as possible through email, Edsby, www.pvsd.ca and our Prairie Valley X (Twitter) and Facebook pages.

We value our teachers and the important work they do in our schools and communities. We will continue to respect the collective bargaining rights of all our staff members.

We thank you for your continued understanding and support as we work to minimize the impact of strike action on our students and school communities.
