Increased Risk of Measles in Saskatchewan - A Message from SHA

Measles is highly contagious and spreads easily to others through open air. Measles can cause symptoms such as fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes and a blotchy, red rash. Serious complications of measles can include pneumonia or death. The single most effective way to prevent measles is to be immunized with the measles vaccine. Measles vaccination is free of charge in Saskatchewan through local public health offices.
